Chilled Water Technician – Daikin Chiller, CPM Controls & Cooling Tower Systems

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain Daikin chilled water systems, including water-cooled and air-cooled chillers.
  • Perform daily inspection and operation of chillers, chilled water pumps, condenser water pumps, cooling towers, AHUs, FCUs, and associated HVAC equipment.
  • Monitor and control plant operation through CPM (Central Plant Manager), BMS, and local control panels.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system faults in chillers, pumps, cooling towers, and HVAC equipment.
  • Monitor chiller performance, temperatures, pressures, flow rates, and energy consumption to ensure efficient operation.
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on chillers, cooling towers, pumps, motors, valves, sensors, actuators, and control panels.
  • Perform cooling tower maintenance, including inspection of fan motors, gearboxes, belts, drift eliminators, nozzles, fill media, basin cleaning, and water distribution systems.
  • Monitor condenser water quality and coordinate water treatment activities to prevent scaling, corrosion, and biological growth.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults in PLC-based controls, communication networks, VFDs, and field instruments.
  • Ensure proper chiller sequencing and cooling tower operation through CPM controls to maximize energy efficiency.
  • Assist in equipment commissioning, testing, balancing, and performance verification.
  • Maintain operational logs, maintenance records, and service reports.
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and vendors during maintenance shutdowns and repair activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and LOTO requirements.

Skills & Expertise:

  • Extensive experience in Daikin chiller operation and maintenance.
  • Proficient in CPM (Central Plant Manager) controls, chiller plant optimization, and BMS operation.
  • Strong knowledge of cooling tower operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and water treatment requirements.
  • Experienced in chilled water and condenser water systems, including pumps, valves, strainers, and piping networks.
  • Familiar with VFDs, PLC controls, sensors, actuators, and HVAC control systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues efficiently.
  • Knowledge of energy-saving strategies and plant performance optimization.
